Do you love creamy milkshakes made with yoghurt, milk or ice cream, but are you trying to cut dairy out of your diet? Treat yourself to this creamy Raw Vegan Mango Lassi! Lassi is the Indian version of a traditional milkshake: it is made with yoghurt, water, spices and fruit. Can you guess what we are going to replace the yoghurt with? Hemp seeds!
Hemp seeds are an excellent addition to your daily smoothies, shakes and salads if you want to lose weight and boost your performance. They are really high in healthy plant-based protein, essential omega 3 fatty acids and important minerals such as calcium. Just like chia seeds, they will make you feel full and satisfied longer and they will reduce your cravings for snacks that are high in refined sugars and unhealthy fats. Thanks to the addition of hemp and chia seeds, this raw vegan mango lassi makes a great protein shake to enjoy about 1 to 1 ½ hour before your workout. It will fuel your muscles and improve your endurance. Don’t worry if you don’t like to exercise! You can enjoy this mango lassi as a healthy protein rich milkshake and top it with a scoop of banana ice cream… Doesn’t that sound tempting?
