I have been a fan of green juices ever since I started incorporating more raw food into my daily diet. When I just started out with raw food, I created my own ‘juice feast’ in order to help my body detoxify and gain energy. I combined daily juices with high raw, nutritious meals and the results were stunning! Not only did I lose a considerable amount of weight, I also felt extremely happy, grateful, peaceful and energized.

I know you might think it will taste bad or take too much of your precious time. I am here to prove you wrong. You don’t even need a juicer! Energy Boost Green Juice

SERVES: 2 large glasses of green juice

EQUIPMENT: blender, nut milk bag OR cheesecloth

INGREDIENTS:

1 cucumber, chopped
1 big apple, chopped
½ lemon or lime, chopped (you can leave the skin on if they’re organic)
2 stalks of celery, chopped
2 stalks of chard OR 1 handful of spinach/kale/…
10 drops of Stevia (or more)
Fresh ginger, to taste (optional)
Extra water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Put all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Pour the green smoothie into the nut milk bag or cheesecloth. Gently squeeze it in order to separate the juice from the pulp.
  3. Save the vegetable pulp for crackers, bread, croutons, cookies… The possibilities are endless!

JULIE’S TIPS AND TRICKS:

Fresh juices contain the highest amount of nutrients when you drink them right away. You can store them in the refrigerator for one day, but they will lose some of their taste and a lot of their vitamins and minerals because the fiber has been removed from the vegetables.
