Going raw can be a tough journey when you are trying to figure it out all on your own. That’s why I’ve created three extra tips to add more raw foods into your daily diet (check out the previous 3 tips right here). Together we can turn your ‘raw transformation’ into a long lasting success!
Tip 4: Set Your Goals
The fastest and easiest way to give your life a new direction is to focus your attention on your goals. What will your life look like after your raw transformation? When you have a clear vision of what you want to achieve, it will be a lot easier to overcome the obstacles that might pop up during your transformation.
For example:
- Lose weight
- Have more energy
- Enjoy clear skin
- Be excited about life
The more details you use to describe every aspect of your dream body and life, the closer you will get to the results you so strongly desire.
Tip 5: Eat Fruit First
Fresh fruit is loaded with healthy carbohydrates, the most important source of calories for anyone who wants to maintain a high raw lifestyle. Fruit is very high in antioxidants and healthy fiber too, which prevent the natural fruit sugars from being absorbed into the blood too quickly. However, it is important to always have your fruit first. When you have fruit after a heavier meal, it will start to ferment and cause bloating, gas or even stomachaches. If you want a flat belly and healthy digestion, eat your fruit first.
Tip 6: Choose Healthier Snacks
How often have you been told to avoid snacks if you are trying to lose weight? Forget about this outdated advice! Eating small portions throughout the day will actually speed your metabolism and boost your weight loss, at least when you stay away from traditional snacks like candy bars and cookies that are loaded with refined sugars, wheat and trans fats.
Choose healthier snacks such as:
- Vegetables with raw vegan humus or ‘nacho cheese’
- Fresh fruit
- Green smoothie or juice
- Kale chips
- Raw vegan energy bars or cookies
Always keep a snack with you to avoid ‘binging’ for when your body is craving something sweet or salty. You deserve to treat yourself with healthy and delicious snacks!
